Water Softener

Water softeners remove impurities from your water by using special resin beads inside.  People often think that the salt in water softeners are what soften your water, but what actually softens your water are thousands of resin beads inside of the water softener which attract and remove the mineral and other impurities in your water.  The salt (or sometimes potassium) is used to clean these beads between uses in something called the regeneration cycle.

The minerals in the water stick to the beads, then get rinsed off with a solution of salt water or potassium water.

This system comes with a 5 year warranty, but can function for 10 to up to 25 years with proper maintenance and regular addition of salt.

Water Conditioner

Water conditioners are sometimes called salt-free water softeners but that’s not exactly right because only salt or potassium systems can soften water, which means the removal of minerals from the water.

The iLove NAC water conditioner uses technology called Nucleation Assisted Crystalization (NAC) to crystallize minerals in the water, which prevents them from attaching to the insides of pipes and appliances. Water conditioners can be useful for landlords who don’t live in the home and don’t want pipe blockages or appliance damage. They can also be useful for people who travel frequently or have busy lifestyles and don’t want to check and refill salt bins, or who live in areas where softeners have been banned due to water use rules.

Water conditioners don’t remove minerals from water, so the total dissolved solids in the water will remain the same and water quality for consumption, bathing and cleaning is not improved.  Because minerals are not being removed, these systems also do not increase home water use and do not require power or a dedicated drain, but operates solely based on the water pressure in the home, so they have a lower cost of ongoing operation.

These systems carry a 5 year warranty.  The ceramic media beads inside lasts for 5-7 years and will either need to be replaced, or the units will need to be replaced at the end of this time period.

Whole Home Filter

Our granular activated carbon (GAC) whole home filter is a proven option to remove certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from water.

GAC filters are also relied upon to remove chemicals that give objectionable odors or tastes to water such as hydrogen sulfide (that rotten eggs odor) or chlorine.

1 cubic foot of this carbon has the ability to remove 1 part per million of chlorine from a million gallons of water.  This will prolong the life of your water softener resin as well when used in combination with a water softener.

Carbon is one of the most porous materials on earth.  It has a filtering surface area of 1,050 square meters per gram (456 grams in a pound – 27 lbs per cubic foot)

Water flows over this large carbon block, filtering all the water entering your home

The whole home filter comes with a 5 year warranty, but the lifespan will depend upon the amount of incoming chemicals like Chlorine and other contaminants are captured by the system.

Reverse Osmosis

A “point-of-use reverse osmosis (RO) system” is a system that can clean water from one location, like the kitchen sink. It makes water clean by pushing it through a special filter that separates the clean water (called “permeate”) from the dirty water (called “concentrate” or “brine”). These devices can help take away bad things in the water like lead, dangerous substances, bacteria, and viruses. People often use these devices in homes, but often hospitals, offices or kitchens have them as well.

These systems are typically installed at the Kitchen sink for use in drinking and cooking water, to ensure the highest quality of water for these applications.

If used with a whole home filter and softener or salt-less conditioner, the Reverse osmosis system will require filter changes every 12 months.  If used without the whole home systems, filters should be changed every 6 months
